Its been a huge couple of weeks for Soula with us taking the plunge and getting our very own offices!

We previously shared offices with our good partners over at MoreNiche and Zooki Digital but building on our success we decided it’s time to move out on our own.

Here are some initial photos from the office but we are going to get you some higher quality ones once someone remembers to bring their camera in (!).

In our reception area you’ll find a warm Soula welcome, some comfy couches and our logo styled windows.

On to upstairs, we have the workroom: a spacious top floor with some shiny white and glass desks.

And finally our conference room ads a touch of class for our client meetings (the beer, usually not so much).

As we said the’ll be some proper photos following soon and of course feel free to drop in and see us at any time!

Gone are those days when the corporate messages where only dealt by managers in a communication chamber. Today companies are marketing themselves quite aggressive to popular social media sites like Twitter, Facebook fan pages and blogs.

But as every coin has two faces, the other side of this coin is the inability to track all the fleeting ideas and thoughts that are being sent to the cyber space through these social media sites. But new set up of some emerging technology is trying to offer a solution to help organizations manage their social media presence by recording the business communications and managing the posts created by employees on sites like Twitter and Facebook.

This social media management tool will definitely take the world of digital media to the next level. It has been designed to crawl the web to document the communications posted by a particular company’s employees on various social media sites.

The organizations, mainly the ad agencies need to archive their social media communications released every day to protect themselves from law suits or claims of false misleading advertisements. The financial firms need to use this technology to collect information regarding current industry regulations to keep in pace with them.

The amount of the content generated over the net is exploding and an internet solution is indispensable to manage these. This technology can be really crucial for companies dealing in compliance issues; even the law firms are seeing the importance of recording their social media presence.

The digital agencies are trying to explore the chances of using this technology to monitor the post, the employees make on their personal accounts from the company’s network. It shall help the employer to tack, what their employees are saying about their product/service on their personal account while they are at work. This helps to mitigate the leakage of secret information damage caused to brand name due to wayward posts. If any employee posts something that is questionable, the software can notify the company through an email or even prevent the post from being published.

Wonder how sites like YouTube and Flickr got so popular without even having to strive this way? Because they are based on video-sharing. And this is exactly why you should be using video marketing to help make your brand value rocket up the stocks.

Here are 3 quick tips to make your video marketing campaign go viral, without you having to directly interfere in the same!

1. Content that is Fit for a King – Unless you have the astuteness and excellence of a professional video marketer, your video will probably loiter at the lower rungs with only geeks and online addicts watching them. And if you get the content right, even with simple slideshows or punctuated by the right punchlines, they will be lapped up by everyone, even outside of your niche targeted consumer base!

2. Use the Branding Opportunities – Most videos and video-sharing portals offering branding opportunities on their web. For instance, dialog boxes at different corners of the video.

You can use them to the hilt – just make sure they do not obstruct the view or are not irrelevant or jarring with the sequence they are being played on.

Also include URLs, Calls-to-Action & clever trivia to help gain hits on the video.

3. Title, Description, Power-Pitch – Remember, first you need to get your video into the limelight, before you can even dream of having it go viral. Make sure the Titles, Descriptions and shorter punchlines preceding the video lure the clients into watching it.

Also, use the power-pitch. Clear out sales screams can turn-off the appeal of the video. Instead, use humor, shock-value, ‘found-footage’ tricks to help make the video go viral. You can always follow it up with a branding vid.

Remember, you can’t trick people into buying your product. You need to hold their hand and convince them through your video marketing modus operandi. But for clients to do that, they need to trust in your video production skills first. Probably why hiring a professional video production firm is so important to let that ball roll in the right direction!

Aaaand…Action!

Web design is not only about creativity, it is also about the evolution of creativity. Thus, if you expected a pearl from the ocean bed today, the client would expect a ‘colored’ pearl from the same place tomorrow. So if you cannot blend in with the current rends, or better – start a new trend altogether, your career as a web designer won’t take you far!

Here are 5 fresh web design tips that you can use (Also useful for graphic designers!)

Use Comics-based themes – ‘The Dark Knight, Superman, Spiderman, 300, Tron, you name it, you have it! Film adaptations of comic books have become phenomenally popular, and it is time you used them in your website design as well. Make your website a unique brand comic-book theme, and build on it. The clients would be blown away, especially if are a fan of any of these characters (which includes almost everybody)!

Use Faces from the crowd – Use faces from the crowd to depict your web design adventure. Using heads (albeit matching ones) as a base for your website layout can be unnervingly brilliant. For instance (use the eyes as a sneak peek into the mind, i.e. the web design portfolio or ideas you want to showcase.

Dynamic, but useful content – Yeah, everyone knows what web design is or what a portfolio is. Don’t define them. Define why they should look at your portfolio instead. Trust us, it works!

Give them what they Want AND also what they Need! – Yes, your client may want a website that looks exactly like YouTube, even though they are a publishing house with e-journals to sell. Give them that, but make sure they also have what they need – conversions, sales & profits to be precise!

Use Real-Life pictures – The age of stock images is long gone. Use real-life pictures and images. One, they look better. Two, you can weave your own design story around them. And three, they cost you nothing! Value-for-money anyone?!

So, there you go! Enjoy designing for your clients – and calling in a cavalcade of results. All by following these tips, and this Blog!

Social media marketing is a massive tool to help keep control of two facets of online marketing – reputation management as well as viral impact on the web. However, another cloaked advantage that social media campaigns can provide is feedback collection – both from business associates as well as clients.

However, even though feedback is probably the single most imperative of parameters to measure the popularity of your product, it is often ignored by marketers and entrepreneurs alike. A mistake that may cost you the entire purpose of the SMM campaign itself!

So how do you go about collecting feedback or monitoring your brand image online through social media? Let’s find out –

The web is a vast ocean of information – both relevant as well as irrelevant. Seek out what word is out on you – and help counter it if negative.

If you find users talking positively about your site or brand, boost it by sending it over to other networks. For instance, a Re-tweet (on Twitter) of the positive quote from your profile may put it up for hundreds of others to check it out.

More Social Chatter with YOU as the focal point = Bonus Points on Trustworthiness + Brand Value!

Learn to turn around negative feedback into positive overtones. The more you can do this, the more opportunities you will have to help create and manage feedback on your brand.

So, if you had only been using Facebook, LinkedIn & Twitter for updating social news and updates from the industry, start using it more constructively now.

For feedback lost, is brand value dropped!

Facebook, by Mark Zuckerberg’s own confession, 70% of people who have access to the web all over the world, have a profile on Facebook. This means that almost 95% of a targeted consumer base of any online enterprise is active on Facebook.

This is precisely why almost all of the social media marketers profess an interest in Facebook Applications, one of the chief ways to make good business ground on the social networking portal. However, you must be very clear on the ideas and the strategies that you will implement when using Facebook applications.

Let’s take a look at the advantages that these Facebook applications provide:

Branding – Imagine being featured in an ad on CNN in a prime-time slot for your firm that sells cosmetic products? Well, it is the same with a Facebook application, albeit online! With more people logged in on Facebook at a given time than those watching CNN, you can reach a huge potential consumer base – all for as low as naught!

Web Traffic – You can also drive immense amounts of traffic to your website – and all of it without even running an Organic SEO campaign. All you need is an engaging Facebook application & a great marketing strategy!

Go Viral – How many of you Facebook users have played FarmVille or Mafia Wars? Well, I can see almost all hands going up in the air! That is what I call going viral. Even a small, but engaging game can get attention to your website – as well as allied brands & products you sell. Get geared, and get started!

You see?! Social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter have opened up a back-door to business for most firms, irrespective of their size, budget or marketing tactics.

All you need is a crystal clear understanding of what the consumer base wants. Cater to it through a brand new Facebook application. For who would want to indulge in a dummy of Mafia Wars all over again?!

So you are getting as many visitors to your site as James Cameron’s “Avatar” got on its opening show? And are you still wondering why you haven’t yet converted even 1% of this number? Well, it is simply because you don’t know how to be friends with conversion yet!

Let’s check out how your site can be the best buddy to conversion ever!

Stop talking about yourself – Best friends listen more than they talk. So quit ranting on about yourself and listen to what the visitors have to say – i.e. answer their demands. Show them what you have as an answer to their requirements. Only then can you engage them enough to make them stay!

Quality, not quantity, matters – If your product is an inferior sham, conversions will dwindle. Remember, quality and not quantity, always prevails! So instead of showering visitors with discounts etc, show them what value you can provide.

Let the surprises unravel, but slowly – If you play all your cards at once, your value is a one-time affair. Make sure the visitors come back time and again. Play cards close to your chest, but be flexible enough to let the visitors enjoy the experience of discovering the surprises!

Define what you want them to do – Or more precisely, a “Call to Action”! Treat visitors as blindfolded entities, and guide them from one pit-stop to another. Tell them what they need to do after they have come over to your site – and you will find conversion rates running up the charts faster than Usain Bolt!

Use a mirror (read ‘testers’) – Test yourself for flaws before the others find them out! Use mirrors. Or testers and conversion experts in a website’s case. Weed out the issues that you feel may hamper conversions – and let the sales miracle happen!

If you have successfully followed these laws, getting conversions as much in value as the revenue statistics of “The Dark Knight” does not seem a tall order anymore!

Ahoy web design enthusiasts! Think you know everything about design? If you do, we have prepared a small but ingenious fact checklist for you to check out! Let’s see how many you agree with, and how many you don’t!

Web Designers need to be given a free rein – “The client may be king, but he’s not the art director”! This famed quote from Von R. Glitschka fits exactly right in the web designers’ trade. Do not interrupt if you are the client, and do not indulge if you are the designer. For to many suggestions always spoil the final cut!

Web design & Graphic design go hand-in-hand – If you were a web designer, you need to at least have an ounce of knowledge on graphic design. For that is where art stems from – and the more you are passionate about the latter, the better you shall prevail in the former.

Clarity = Creativity – Many designers believe that using every single pixel to flaunt their creative juices is the demand of art. He/she couldn’t have been more wrong! Today, clarity defines creativity, and so does precision and engulfing a gamut of ideas into a short, sweet space.

Colours Need to be used more judiciously – Coloring your websites which go “BOOM-In-Your-Face!” are not what a tasteful web designer would do. Instead, keep it simple yet sassy. For in restraint, lies class!

A good graphic designer ≠ A great web designer – Read Fact #2 if you did miss out on it. Now understand that while a great web designer has to be a good graphic designer as well, it doesn’t work vice versa. The encroachment of art is not ideal in the online space, especially if you are trying to kick-start a vociferous marketing campaign, with your web design as its prime weapon.

o Also, the approximation of pixels, online space, frames and browser-mode differences may be too much for a print or graphic designer to consume and execute with perfection.

How many did you agree with? All?! Aah, then you belong to Soula mate! Check out why!

Content is king! If you are looking to rank higher up in the SERPs, you are dead right with that phrase. But what if you are also looking to convert leads (or visitors)? Is content the king then as well? Oh yes, it is! And the sooner you realize that SEO content copy is not just for the SERPs, the better!

But only few online marketers and copywriters can walk the fine line between catering to the search engines as well as curious readers through their SEO copy. So what is their secret? Come let’s find out!

Be a Problem Solver – Don’t ignore the fact that your copy is actually to solve the client’s problem – and not rant about your company or use keywords. Just say what your client wants to hear, i.e. an answer to his requirement.

Avoid Looking Artificial – Do not put up keywords into the content just to please the search engines. Not only will this look bad and artificial to the visitors that chance upon your website, it will also create a bad brand image.

Remember, we are easily influenced by people who speak well. On the web, clients are influenced by those who present themselves well – and SEO copy is a big part of that!

Format and Tags are All-Important Elements – The best way to engage readers with your content without sacrificing the keywords or the SEO –aspect of the copy is to use proper formatting.

Headlines are to be distinguishable, pictures should not bleed onto text, colors and highlights should be set apart from the whole body etc. Such features make a SEO copy worth using as sales content – and vice versa!

Still confused about how you can climb the SEO peaks with content as an ice-pick? Check out how Soula does the same, here!
